Surgery changes your body. Recovery determines the result. NuVue delivers the complex, procedure-specific lymphatic care your healing deserves — backed by Australia's only registered, IICT-insurable post-operative lymphatic method.
NuVue actively collaborates with plastic and reconstructive surgeons across Brisbane to support their patients through post-operative recovery. We work with clients referred from a range of surgical practices — and we're happy to liaise directly with your surgical team as part of your care.
The NuVue Protocol is not exclusive to any one practice. Whoever performed your surgery, we can support your recovery — and we'll always work within your surgeon's specific post-operative instructions.
We welcome referrals from any surgical team. If your surgeon would like to speak with us about your care plan, we're available to do so.

Abby Mortimer was interviewed by Valley Plastic Surgery's Dr Matthew Peters on the role of post-operative lymphatic drainage in surgical recovery — exploring how registered lymphatic care supports improved patient outcomes. The interview is published on the Valley Plastic Surgery website.
Read on Valley Plastic Surgery ↗Post-operative lymphatic drainage is not a one-size-fits-all service. The disruption to your lymphatic system, the pattern of swelling, the risk of fibrosis — these differ significantly depending on what surgery you've had. NuVue's clinical method is adapted to the specific demands of your procedure and your recovery stage.
An abdominoplasty is one of the most lymphatically disruptive procedures you can have. The surgery repositions tissue across the entire abdominal region, severs key lymphatic pathways, and creates the conditions for significant fluid accumulation — and, if not properly managed, fibrosis.
The internal scar tissue that forms without adequate drainage creates the firmness, lumpiness, and uneven texture that many patients assume is simply part of healing. It doesn't have to be.
NuVue sessions following an abdominoplasty focus on systematically reopening the inguinal and abdominal drainage pathways, clearing fluid from the flanks where it pools, and working around the scar line to support tissue healing and prevent adhesion. Every session follows a specific clinical sequence — not a generic protocol applied regardless of what surgery was done.
Body lift procedures are among the most complex surgeries from a lymphatic perspective. Because the procedure affects tissue around the entire circumference of the torso, multiple major lymphatic pathways — inguinal, axillary, and thoracic — are disrupted simultaneously.
The volume of swelling is typically higher, the risk of seroma formation is greater, and recovery takes longer. These clients need a practitioner who understands the particular demands of circumferential lymphatic disruption, and has the clinical depth to manage it across every stage of healing.
These clients need a practitioner who brings clinical depth, extended treatment planning, and a thorough understanding of how the body's drainage pathways interact across such a large surgical field. NuVue's sequenced approach is specifically designed to manage this complexity — supporting recovery across every affected region, at every stage.
A deep plane facelift operates at the level of the SMAS — the deep fascial layer of the face. It is a sophisticated, long-lasting procedure that requires equally sophisticated recovery support. Swelling and bruising in the first weeks can be significant, and the lymphatic pathways of the face drain through the neck to the clavicular nodes — pathways that must be properly opened before effective facial drainage can occur.
NuVue's approach to facial post-operative care is gentle, anatomically precise, and focused on protecting the surgical result. We understand how to support facial recovery in a way that honours what your surgeon has done — working with the specific drainage pathways of the face, neck, and clavicular region in the correct clinical sequence.
For clients in later stages of facelift recovery, our Advanced Lymphatic Facials can support ongoing skin quality and tissue health as the face continues to settle.
Lymphatic drainage isn't only relevant to cosmetic procedures. Any surgery that disrupts tissue — planned or unplanned — affects the lymphatic system. NuVue supports recovery across a wide range of surgical contexts, including general and emergency surgery.

Book Online — View Pricing & AvailabilityAs soon as your surgeon clears you — typically within the first week post-surgery. Early intervention produces the best outcomes for fluid clearance and fibrosis prevention. We can work within your surgeon's specific post-operative instructions.
No referral is required to book. You can come to us directly after surgery and we'll work with you from there. That said, if your surgeon has provided a referral or post-operative care instructions, please bring these — they give us a clearer picture of your procedure, your surgeon's expectations, and any specific restrictions to work within. Where a referral exists, we're also able to communicate directly back to your surgeon on your progress, which many clients and surgical teams find valuable.
This varies by procedure and individual. Most clients benefit from a series of sessions in the first weeks post-surgery, tapering as recovery progresses. A treatment plan is provided at your first session.
Post-operative lymphatic drainage is a clinical service provided to a person in an active recovery state. Insurance specific to the post-operative context means your practitioner is operating within a recognised, accountable clinical framework — not simply offering general massage following surgery. The NuVue Protocol and the Dr Vodder technique are the only two registered methods in Australia carrying this specific IICT insurance coverage.
The NuVue Protocol — Advanced Lymphatic Drainage® is IICT-accredited and IICT-insured for post-operative lymphatic drainage. Alongside the Dr Vodder technique, it is one of only two registered methods in Australia carrying insurance coverage for this specific application.
Post-operative lymphatic drainage is a widely offered service — but it is not uniformly regulated. Many practitioners providing this care do so without specific insurance coverage for the post-operative context. For a client recovering from surgery, this distinction matters.
Registered, insured, and clinically sequenced — your recovery deserves nothing less.
